It was near the mausoleum of the legendary Khan<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Karakhan, nicknamed \u00abAulie-Ata\u00bb, after the ruinous<\/p>\n\n\n\n
invasion of Genghis Khan and several centuries of<\/p>\n\n\n\n
desolation, in the 30s of the XIX century, people began<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to settle again, seeking patronage from the saint, after<\/p>\n\n\n\n
whom the city of Aulie-Ata (now Taraz) was named in<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1864.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The architectural monument of the Karakhanids era is<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in the central part of Taraz and is part of a cult-memorial<\/p>\n\n\n\n
complex within the territory of the medieval settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The medieval structure has not been preserved in its<\/p>\n\n\n\n
original form. Today, we can see this mausoleum in the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
pictures of the second half of the XIX century and read<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the memories of eyewitnesses. In 1906, the mausoleum<\/p>\n\n\n\n
was somewhat rebuilt, but the bricks from the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Karakhanid era can still be seen inside the mausoleum,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
on the dome, and in the arched niches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mazar is an elegant example of medieval art of building<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and was erected, according to historians, in the XI<\/p>\n\n\n\n
century by the same ruler who fell in love with Aisha,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the daughter of the famous scientist and poet of the XI<\/p>\n\n\n\n
century Hakim Suleyman Bakyrgani. Karakhan himself<\/p>\n\n\n\n
willed to bury himself in a place where he could see the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
mausoleum of his deceased beloved, Aisha-Bibi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sad story about the beauty Aisha Bibi, her faithful<\/p>\n\n\n\n
servant Babaji Khatun and the mighty Khan Karakhan<\/p>\n\n\n\n
has several versions, and everyone in the Zhambyl<\/p>\n\n\n\n
